Abstract
The propagation characteristics of Elliptical Gaussian optical (EG) beams carrying orbital angular momentum (OAM) in atmospheric turbulence are studied. The expression of the spiral spectrum of the Elliptical Gaussian optical carrying OAM is obtained. The influence of atmospheric turbulence on the detection probability of beam spiral spectrum and the variation characteristics of beam spiral spectrum under different parameters are discussed. The results show that the influence of atmospheric turbulence can be reduced by choosing long wavelength vortex beam as transmission signal. With the increase of non-Kolmogorov power spectrum index and the inner scale of atmospheric turbulence, the influence of atmospheric turbulence will be reduced. The research can improve the performance of the optical communication system of the EG beam in a turbulent environment, and further provide the direction of parameter optimization, which has important reference significance.
