Abstract
According to the investigation on the use of top coal, the coal seams in different mining areas are different. The number, location, thickness and strength of coal seams are complex and random. The cutting part of drum is the working mechanism of shearer. Its coal rock structure parameters and coal gangue condition will directly affect the working performance of drum. In this paper, the coupling model of drum and coal seam structure is established, and the drum cutting of different coal gangue structures is simulated by EDEM discrete element simulation software. According to the simulation results, the drum cutting characteristics under different working conditions are analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively, and the best drum cutting scheme under different coal gangue structures is obtained.
