Abstract
In order to improve the transmission efficiency of laser beam having larger beam diameter and divergence into an optical fiber, We have deduced criteria for choosing optimal focal length of a single lens coupling system in this paper. By which the minimum size of focal spot could be obtained. These criteria were used in design of a lens-optical fiber delivery system. From which more than 70% efficiency has been reached for a gold vapor laser having φ40mm beam diameter.
