Abstract
The 3D cutting simulation of Ti6Al4V titanium alloy material by trapezoidal chip breaking groove tool with different land width was carried out by ABAQUS, and the cutting force in three directions were obtained. MATLAB software was used to perform the Fourier transform of the cutting forces to acquire the amplitude-frequency curve of the cutting forces fluctuation. The fluctuation of each cutting force component is analyzed, and the influence of trapezoidal chip break groove land width on tool vibration in the process of chip control is obtained: the frequencies of large amplitude of tool vibration along all directions in all stages of the chip crimped were the same; at the stage from the start of chip flowing into the chip breaker to the beginning of flowing into bottom of the chip breaking groove, as the increase of land width was increased, the amplitudes of tool vibration along the directions of feed and main cutting force were increased; in the stage of chip flow through the bottom of the groove, the amplitude of tool vibration along the directions of main cutting force was increased, but decreased along the direction of feed force with the increase of land width; in the stage of chip flow through the groove back, as land width increased, the amplitudes of tool vibration gradually decreased along the directions of feed and main cutting forces; the amplitude of the back force was smaller than the other two forces obviously. And the variation trend was not obvious.
