A far-infrared laser ellipsometer based on novel high-contrast polarizers is applied to YBaCuO ceramics. Temperature scans clearly reveal the gap, e.g. at 80 cm-' with 4% Fe. -Surprisingly a yet unreported material modification is observed between 110 and 190 K. It is sensitive to an external magnetic field of a few mT.
