Abstract
This paper considers the fuzzy logic analogue of a basic alternative conditioning approach to bayesian updating of a parameter of interest. This is useful, when only linguistic information, or a combination of linguistic and stochastic information, is present, and the fuzzy set analogue of either the input conditional or prior distributions are not obtainable. For the first time, in conjunction with new results unifying conditional event algebra, conditional fuzzy sets, and one-point coverage representations of fuzzy sets and operations, a completely rigorous justification is presented for the above fuzzy logic analogue.
