Abstract
Many Image Analysts (IAs) need to represent buildings of interest in imagery in a vector (feature) format, which is called “collecting” the buildings. Collecting is typically done by manually digitizing multiple points around building borders to form outlining polygons, and this can be a time-consuming and fatiguing endeavor. SABOT is a means to “click” once within a building’s image footprint, and automatically obtain the outline. We first describe the amount of imagery where buildings need to be collected, and the need to improve efficiency. Then we review technical challenges and how we addressed them. Next we present results from the current SABOT version. Finally we summarize improvements we anticipate to enhance and optimize SABOT’s performance.
