Dr. Bashir Adamu is a Lecturer in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing at Modibbo Adamu University (MAU) Yola, Nigeria. Graduated with B. Technology in Geography from Modibbo Adama University Yola and Master’s Degree in GIS and University of Lagos Nigeria in 2001 and 2007 respectively. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Leicester, United Kingdom, and have been teaching and supervising students in GIS and Remote Sensing Modules since 2010. Have published 14 articles in reputable international journals, with one receiving the Len’s Curtis/Taylor Francis award for the best scientific paper in the International Journal of Remote Sensing in 2018. He has presented my works at SPIE international conferences in Dresden, Germany in 2013, and Maryland, USA in 2014. I have also served as the Director of the Adamawa Geographic Information Systems (ADGIS) agency of the Adamawa State Government and as the State Project Manager for a World Bank SFTAS Programme on Property Record from 2021 to 2023. My research focuses on using earth observation data to address environmental problems, particularly related to climate change impacts from anthropogenic and natural activities.
