The opportunity of populating of Hg and N2 levels due to ion-ion recombination is considered. Spectra of a luminescence
of mixtures 3He + N2 + NF3 (CCl4) are investigated on nuclear reactor installation. It was supposed, that populating of
N2 (C3Πu) in processes: N2+ + F- (Cl-) + M → N2 (C3Πu) + F (Cl) + M, will lead to increase of the intensity of the second
positive system of nitrogen. However measurements have shown that molecular bands of nitrogen don't amplify at
addition of electro-negative gases. Spectra of luminescence of mixtures He + Hg + O2 (CO2) are investigated on
installation with excitation by α-particles of 210Po. It was supposed, that in processes of recombination:
Hg+ + O- + M→ Hg* + O + M
Hg+ + O2- + M→ Hg ** + O2 + M
will be populated 73S1 and probably 6D levels of Hg. The observed increase in intensity of triplet lines of mercury at
addition of CO2 to a mixture 3He + Hg, apparently, is connected with recombination of ions Hg+ and O-.
In the present work the opportunity of use of the emission with λ ~329 nm in Ar-Xe mixtures in radioisotope light sources is investigated. At excitation of this mixture by α-particles the transitions from a state Ar+(2P1/2)Xe (λ ~329 nm and ~508 nm) are observed only and there are no transitions from Ar+(2P3/2)Xe. Intensity (in photon/s) of 508 nm band is approximately in 17 times less than intensity of 329 nm band. Efficiency of a luminescence, the attitude of power of the emission in a band of 329 nm to the power enclosed in gas, makes about 5%. At use of α-sources helium collects, dependence of intensity of emission in a band of 329 nm from the pressure of helium in a mixture Ar-Xe-He is investigated. Rate coefficients of some two- and three-body reactions have been measured or estimated from experimental relations.
Investigation of the possibility of the quasicontinuous UV carbon monoxide first negative system laser development is interesting with the fact that quantum efficiency for 0-0 transition (λ = 219 nm) is 13.3%. H2, D2, Kr have high values of the deactivation rate constants of X2 Σ+ level. So the possibility of quasicontinuous laser on B-X transition of CO+ is determined by the ratio of the upper and lower laser levels quenching rates of H2, D2 molecules, Kr atoms. In the present work the luminescence spectra of gas mixtures with carbon monoxide under α-particle excitation are investigated. CO+ (B) quenching rate constants are obtained from dependence of the CO first negative system intensity on gases partial pressure in He+CO+H2 (D2, Kr) mixtures. At the analysis of experimental dates the population of the upper level during He2+-CO charge exchange was taken into account. Efficiency of B2 Σ+u, v=0 level population was defined by the ratio of the intensities of 1- system of N2 and Baldet-Johnson system in He-N2 and He-CO mixtures. The upper limit for the CO+ (B) quenching rate constant in collisions with H2(D2, Kr) is estimated as: kq<10-10 cm3 s-1. The results indicate the possibility of the efficient quasicontinuous laser action on the carbon monoxide first negative system in UV spectral region under ionized radiation source pumping.
