Vyacheslav M. “Slava” Ryaboy is a Fellow at the MKS Photonics Solutions Division (Newport Corporation), working mainly in the areas of Vibration Control and Optomechanics. Previous work history includes senior research positions at the EG&G Washington Analytical Services Center and the Mechanical Engineering Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, an adjunct professorship at Bauman Technical University in Moscow, Russia, and visiting appointments at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden, and Technion in Haifa, Israel. He is the author of an advanced textbook on Vibration Control for Optomechanical Systems, a monograph on optimal vibration isolation, numerous papers and inventions. He holds a Ph.D. (Candidate of Sciences) and Doctor of Sciences degrees from Lomonosov Moscow State University in Mechanics of Solids and System Dynamics, respectively.
