CPO is used to replace the traditional PCB or cable connection between line cards and switch cards. This subversi e change decouples the length limit between line cards and switch cards. The 3-stage clos network with single- chip optical interconnection can form a huge capacity data exchange equipment, and promote the transformation of network equipment form and networking mode. These also give the unified hardware architecture design of data exchange equipment To the possibility and application opportunities. The unified hardware architecture design of data exchange equipment includes the unified design of data exchange chip, the unified design of Ethernet switch and router, and the unified design of CPO components. Finally, the cost of equipment is reduced.
