Profile Summary

Dr. Chao Zuo is a Zijin Chair Professor at Nanjing University of Science and Technology (NJUST), Distinguished Professor of "Changjiang Scholars Program", Ministry of Education of China. He leads the Smart Computational Imaging Laboratory (SCILab: www.scilaboratory.com) at the School of Electronic and Optical Engineering, NJUST, and is also the founder and director of the Smart Computational Imaging Research Institute of NJUST. He has long been engaged in the development of novel Computational Optical Imaging and Measurement technologies, with a focus on Phase Measuring Imaging Metrology such as Digital Holographic Microscopy (DHM), Noninterferometic Quantitative Phase Imaging (QPI), Fringe Projection Profilometry (FPP), and Structured Illumination Microscopy (SIM). He has published > 200 peer-reviewed articles with over 18,000 citations. These researches have been featured on journal cover (including Light, Optica, LPR, PhotoniX, AP, etc.) over 40 times. His growing cache of prestigious and highly regarded awards include EPS-QEOD Fresnel Prize, ICO-IUPAP Young Scientist Prize in Optics, the "Gold Medal with Congratulations of the Jury" at Geneva's International Exhibition of Inventions, etc. He currently serves as an Associate Editor of PhotoniX, Optics Letters, Optics and Lasers in Engineering, IEEE Transaction on Computational Imaging, Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, and Advanced Devices & Instrumentation. He is a Fellow of SPIE | Optica | IOP, and listed as a Clarivate Highly Cited Researcher. He served as an organizing committee member of more than 100 international conferences and congresses, and delivered >200 plenary/keynote/invited talks. He also served as the Optica/SPIE Student Chapter Advisor of NJUST.
